THE PROCESS
The whole manufacturing process, of all Tsuyahaku toothbrushes,is done in Japan.
All the materials used i.e Toothbrush bristles, handle as well as the package, are 100% Made in Japan.
The toothbrushes are made from the finest quality materials. All Tsuyahaku toothbrushes are non-nylon and have polyester bristles. There are 2 reasons for that.
Polyester bristles are firmer and more durable than nylon. They don’t fray as quick as nylon and when they finally do, they fray uniformly so you know it’s time for a new toothbrush and ② polyester bristles are less porous than nylon, which minimizes bacterial growth.
They are then sterilized by UV rays, carefully inspected one by one and then individually sealed and packaged in a famous toothbrush manufacturing plant in Yao, Osaka Japan.

Xylitol & Lactic Acid Bacteria: the fight against tooth decay

We’ve talked about both Xylitol and Lactic Acid Bacteria(LAB) before, so today we wanted to outline the difference between these two.🧐

■In LAB, the lactic acid produces acid and bacteriocins that inhibit or kills the growth of the cavity-causing mutant bacteria.
This way it creates an environment that is resistant to cavities/tooth decay.😋

■Xylitol on the other hand, can’t be broken down by the bad bacteria reducing the production of acid that wears away the enamel.
The bacteria gets weak and are therefore unable to attach to the teeth. This is how it protects teeth from cavities.😇

★Now that you know the difference, you can chose your oral care snacks wisely next time!🤗✨❤️

Lactic Acid Bacteria and its role in cavity prevention

Did you know?🔓💡
Cavity-causing bacteria does not exist in the mouths of newborn babies. So how do they end up with decayed teeth?🧐😱😱
Well that’s because parents transfer it to them through skinship, kissing e.t.c.
Good news is, you can protect your child from cavities.😃
This is where Lactic acid bacteria comes in.
✦Lactic acid bacteria(LAB) is a type of good bacteria found in probiotics intended to restore gut flora.
✦It’s also the bacteria found in mouths of babies that have never been infected by caries or periodontal disease.
✦LAB attacks and inhibits the bacteria responsible for tooth decay and gum disease.
✦This creates an oral environment that is resistant to tooth decay. ❌❌🈲

Japanese Culture: Teeth Shrine

Teeth Shrine in Osaka, Japan ⛩🇯🇵

It’s already the last weekend of Golden Week here in Japan. Golden Week (GW) is one of Japan longest public holiday. For you who planning to travel to Japan (or currently in Japan) and want to visit some unique places, here in Osaka we have a Shinto Shrine (temple) dedicated for teeth! 😮✨

Teeth Shrine itself is located in Umeda, Osaka, which is a very busy business and entertainment district in North Osaka. This small shrine mostly overlooked even by the locals. ⛩
The history behind this shrine is far away when Umeda was still a flood hazard area near the Yodogawa River. The locals then pray to a megalith to stop the flood. The megalith managed to stop(歯止め)the flood and so the Umeda area became safe ever since.👏🏻👏🏻

The megalith then become the Deity of Stoppage (歯止めの神様) but eventually it changes to Deity of Tooth Pain Relief (歯通止めの神様) and often visited by people with dental problem or dentist. 🦷☺️
※ The kanji ”歯” itself means “tooth”, but “歯止め” means “stop” and “歯痛止め” means “tooth pain reliever”

In the front of the shrine, there’s stored a small piece of the megalith and believed to be able to cure dental problem if a person with dental problem touch the stone. 😮❗️Moreover, there’s also a popular annual festival held on this shrine to pray for a year of healthy teeth. People bring their old toothbrush to be given to the deity and exchange it with a new toothbrush on the Toothbrush Award Ceremony. 😁✨

So that’s one of the trivia about Japan. Don’t forget to visit this unique shrine when you visit Osaka! 🤗🇯🇵

Plume – a gentle sonic toothbrush

Plume, a gentle sonic toothbrush 🕊✨

Yesterday (April 18th) was “Good Teeth Day” in Japan. 🦷🦷✨ How do you celebrate a “Good Teeth Day” in your country? It might sound funny, but taking care of your teeth is a serious thing! 😳❗️

To maintain good teeth, you need to keep a good habit of your oral health. Brushing twice is a must, of course. But not only regular brushing, you also need to pay attention to your toothbrush and brushing technique. Do you know that electric toothbrush cleans and removes plaques better than manual toothbrush? 🤔

Let us introduce you a linear sonic toothbrush for a complete care for your oral health!😁
Plume Linear Sonic Toothbrush was designed and planned in Japan.🇯🇵Just like its name, Plume Linear Sonic Toothbrush was made to be as soft as feather. 🕊The bristle made from PBT which is durable yet firm with two levels of length to help cleans better until the periodontal pocket. 😍

It also comes with a small replacement brush head with rubber on the back of its head for a pleasant brushing experience and a large replacement brush head for a thorough cleaning. Both bristle are available in 2 size of hardness: soft and medium soft.☺️

The gentle vibration of Plume is the answer for someone with sensitive gum and for who want a comfortable brushing. Feel a new sensation of brushing with Plume Linear Sonic Toothbrush!🤩✨

Sonic toothbrush – what makes it different

Sonic toothbrush, what makes it different!

Electric toothbrush has widely known as one alternative choice for toothbrush beside manual toothbrush or twig. Many people believe that electric toothbrush clean and remove plaques better than manual toothbrush because of its power and ability to clean better. It also helps people with difficulties or a weak grip to keep taking care of their oral health.

A normal electric toothbrush usually works in oscillate / rotation motion at around 2,500 – 7,000 strokes per minutes.🌀 Strong enough to clean your teeth, but there’s more powerful electric toothbrush: Sonic toothbrush. ✨
Differ from normal electric toothbrush, most of sonic toothbrush vibrate back-and-forth at around 30,000 – 40,000 strokes per minute. ❗️ With this high-speed vibration, sonic toothbrush encourage the mouth to produce more saliva to create a fluid dynamic that will help cleans the teeth better and reach the narrow teeth gaps and even below the gum line. 😮
This makes the sonic toothbrush believed to clean better than a normal electric toothbrush. 😁✨

The vibrate motion helps to cleans parts that can’t be reached by manual toothbrush. Also the gentle vibration is suitable for people with sensitive or receding gums. 😃👍🏻

But to obtain all those features and maximum benefit of sonic toothbrush, it still requires a proper brushing. ❗️ No matter how high-tech and expensive is your toothbrush are, if you didn’t brush properly, it won’t help you to clean better. 🤔🤭⚠️

Whether you choose sonic toothbrush or regular toothbrush, it’s all depend on your self preferences, needs and your oral care habit. And don’t forget to regularly visit your dentist for a healthier smile! 😁

Do you know about different types of electric toothbrushes?

April marked the beginning of a new era for Japan!✨
Sad to say goodbye to [Heisei]😔 but also exciting to have witnessed the beginning of [Reiwa]🤩

Speaking of different … Do you know know the difference between Electric, Sonic and Ultra-sonic toothbrushes?😅
Well, we’ll break it down to the basics;

【Electric Toothbrush】
Removes plaque with approximately 2500~7500 brush stokes per minute
The motor makes rapid automatic bristle motions which are powerful to thoroughly clean the mouth.
Example: Oral B Smart Professional, with 3 brushing modes.

【Sonic Toothbrush】
A sonic toothbrush is a type of electric toothbrush that uses over 30,000 sonic motions to remove plaque and clean teeth
Sonic brushes rely on a sweeping motion alone to clean the teeth, the movement that they provide is often high in amplitude which means they offer larger sweeping brush stroke motions.
Example: Linear Sonic Toothbrush PLUME, with 5 brushing modes and feather-soft bristles

【Ultra Sonic Toothbrush】
An ultrasonic toothbrush is one that uses a very high frequency of vibration (160~200万Hz) referred to as ultrasound to remove plaque and bacteria from the teeth.
Ultrasonic toothbrushes unlike sonic ones do not rely on a physical motion to clean the teeth.
Example: Sonicare Professional & Sonicare KIDS

Maybe not exactly exciting, but the difference might come in handy next time you’re getting something other than a manual toothbrush!😉😇
